Students at Calvary Christian School celebrated their “Patriot Pride” with
Spirit Week, a weeklong event that culminated on Friday evening, January 27,
with the school’s Homecoming game and the crowning of the 2006 Homecoming
Queen.
Daily
spirit themes allowed students to dress in camouflage, school colors, and
even as pirates. A morning Chapel service on Friday further fueled the
excitement, while giving students the chance to reflect on topics of eternal
significance. A Friday afternoon pep rally provided an opportunity to cheer
the Patriot teams toward victory.
Young
ladies were elected by fellow students to serve as representatives on the
school’s 2006 Homecoming Court. Selections are made based on each lady’s
Christian character and testimony, participation in church and school,
academic achievement, and lastly, grace and physical attractiveness.
Whitney Rebecca DelPriore and Lauren Gross were chosen as the 7th Grade
and 8th Grade Princesses. Senior High court representatives,
vying for the title of 2006 Homecoming Queen, were Megan Bruner, Asheley
Gregory, Meredith Haynes, Brittany Shaw, Sara Smith, and Vonbophasomrith
Svay.
After the court was presented on Friday evening, Meredith Haynes was named
second runner up, Megan Bruner was named first runner up, and Brittany Shaw was crowned as Calvary’s 2006 Homecoming Queen.
