Music education is a vital part of every child's total development.
Research has proven that music enhances cognitive, physical, social,
emotional, and language development. To ensure that each child will
gain all of the benefits of music education, CCS offers a comprehensive
music education program. Below are offerings for the 2007-2008
School Year.
KINDERMUSIK®
Kindermusik®
is a developmentally appropriate curriculum that incorporates
vocal development, movement, listening, creative expression, and early
instrumental experience. Classes are offered to students in K3-Grade
2.

REQUIRED MUSIC CLASSES - GRADES 3-6
All
students in grades 3-6 participate in weekly music appreciation classes.
There is no additional cost for this instruction; all fees were collected in
the office along with your book fees.
INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL OPPORTUNITIES - KINDERGARTEN AND
ELEMENTARY
Students in K3-Grade 3 may elect to study piano.
Students in Grades 4-6 may receive instruction in choir, flute,
guitar, handchime choir, and piano.
