CAMPUS LIFE -- 2003-2004 SCHOOL YEAR

Here's some of the fun we had during the '03-'04 school year!  Enjoy your visit!!

"Mini" Cheerleading Camp

The CCS Cheerleaders are doing something new this year: they are holding a "Mini" Cheerleading Camp and are offering participants -- "Junior Cheerleaders" -- an opportunity to cheer with them at our last home game.  All girls in grades 2-5 are eligible to participate.  Girls will attend two "Cheerleading Camp" practice days, sit with the CCS Cheerleaders during the game, and perform with the Cheerleaders at half-time of the Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity games.  For all the details, visit the Girls Cheerleading web page.

5th Grade Holds Annual Character Dress Up Day

On February 2, students in Mrs. Cannone's fifth grade class had their annual character dress-up day.  The children prepared by reading a biography about a person in history and preparing an oral report to present to the class.  Then, on the designated day, they came to school dressed as that character.  This year, we had Abe Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, George Washington, Abigail Adams, and many others from history.  This is always a highlight of the year and the boys and girls love it!

Seniors To Attend Legislative Breakfast In Columbia

(Event Cancelled Due To The Ice Storm; Rescheduled For Wednesday, February 18)

Students in the Senior Class will accompany Mr. Gregory and Mr. Martin to Columbia on Wednesday, January 28 to attend a Legislative Breakfast that is sponsored by SCACS.  All of South Carolina's Senators, Representatives, and Constitutional Officers have been invited.

It is also expected that members of the Horry County Delegation will attend.  The Governor attended last year's breakfast and may be present this year as well.  The Lieutenant Governor has also indicated that he will attend.

The breakfast begins at 7:45 a.m.  Students will leave the school by bus about 4:00 a.m.

Following the breakfast, there will be special speakers for the youth while Mr. Gregory and Mr. Martin will attend the SCACS Annual Business Meeting.
